The Carnegie Libraries have been centers of community life since Andrew Carnegie built them for New York City at the turn of the century. Improving access for the physically challenged in a pleasant and functional manner is the mandate of our society and, likewise, it is the goal for this rehabilitation.
Our design solutions give equal concern to the architectural quality of these landmark structures, and preserve them as examples of New York's finest civic architecture.
Our firm was responsible for the architectural design and engineering coord-ination, exterior improvements, ADA comp-liance, lighting, and construction observation at these libraries. KKA PC implemented this project which was completed in 1999 for the Brooklyn Public Library. It was also a recepient of an Art Commission Award for Excellence in 2000. |
